After a while not getting any imaging done because of bad weather and incompatibilities with my new gear I finally got out to take some last night.

I am now using a 2.5 inch TS OAG with my GSO F4 newt. To get this to work I had to cut about 2 cm off the end of my tube and re-mount the mirror. I also required an adaptor to be custom made. My imaging train is quite long now but every connection is threaded which I am happy about.

The image is my first attempt at 15 minute subs, and using an OAG. The sensor was -30 C and I shot 10 frames and kept 10 frames. I am very happy with the result, a little more tinkering and I should have a very potent system indeed.

Pete, this is a good effort on a well known patch of sky. Good shadow and highlights. Stars nice and round.

With b&w halpha it can be a little tricky getting an "artistic" look to an object that has been done previously by many in technicolor neon ....but hey, what hasn't :)

Stick with it

Thanks Peter, To be honest I like this area in black and white and RGB better than the false colour images that are out there. I think this is still slightly coma affected and a little over sharpened but im getting there! Still very happy with my result only being around 6 months into the hobby.

I think my biggest drive is the plethora of great images on here, so thankyou everyone for your inspiration!

Cheers ross, I played with it a bit more and I think I like this processing better.
