This was captured tonight from the Meade 14 at f6.2 and the canon40D. At least i now know i will never get it all in the field of view. only tracking was at lunar rate. its basic but its an image. I have more tweaking to do setting the gear up before i tackle some deep sky stuff. but this weather is not holding out:sadeyes:

A couple of people asked here at work if that was my moon image on the news  (well, it was a astronomical image and I must be the only astrophotographer out there )..no I said, that would probably have been my mate David Hough here in Newie...and low and behold it was - I'm psychic ;)

Thanks Mike:thumbsup: – maybe you should take the kudos:P as after all you are my mentor:) and as a former world class strongman I can’t argue with you:help:. Don’t you just love the clear crisp clean skies we are experiencing:confused2:? Its like being trapped in a room with white noise playing 24h a day 7 days a week, so far for 7 months….:mad2:

OK last tweak/sidonio:shrug: i dont know if i have made it worse - over processed the life out of it or if it looks better. I am so far out of touch its not funny.

Hmmm... Dave ... do you have a solar filter for the 14"?

The FOV you're getting with the DSLR is about the same I get with the DMK41 through the ED80... except you'll get a lot more resolution from the DSLR...

If only the seeing would be up to it...
