Looks like being a very nice visual/photo opportunity this Sunday morning with Jupiter.

Set alarms for around 4am when Io and it's shadow begins transit, the GRS begins its journey across the planet's face and Ganymede begins to emerge from Jupiter's shadow just before 4-30am.

That's all according to StarryNight, of course.

Should be a good time for imaging. Let's pray for clear and steady skies.

Apologies Rob

Yeah, that's working on daylight saving time here which of course will still be in effect due to the Comm Games.

That'd make it 3am your time? You've got SN, set to your computer clock?

Anyway, should make for a pretty interesting view, don't you think? That's a lot happening in the space of 30-45 minutes. Gotta love Jupiter.

The weather here lately has not been good - lets hope it's clear by Sunday!

Let's hope so, Mike.

I think it would make a very nice animation for you guys who are good at putting those together - particularly Ganymede's appearance from shadow.

Be a real challenge to see if you could capture phase as it becomes gradually illuminated.:D
