Very, very nice but I noticed a blue streak to the right of Beta Centaurus in all the images you posted. Otherwise fantastic image, well done.

thanks guys.....re the blue line, it seems to be a column defect or debayer
artifact get on the LHS of most of my QHY stuff.

Nice images Steve. I prefer the one with the southern cross in it.

Hi Steve,
Is this normal for QHY cameras?
I want to buy one but such a line would have me asking for warranty.

I should say, it is not necessarily a defect....I haven't investigated it
to any extent.
All I know is that after a typical debayer and very extreme stretching of
a stack with anywhere from 50-100 images, there is this line.
It could be many things....
I don't use darks most times...you can see this in the form of blue dark holes/streaks dotted thru my recent images.
Darks will remove most of this type of 'in camera noise' if that is what it is.
I never use flats, although it doesn't seem like a thing a flat would remove.
My post-capture processing is usually a rough hack. I tend to over-stretch, which would emphasise this type of artifact.
FWIW.

Thanks for the reply.
It would be good to know what that line is.
I am just looking around for a new camera & seeing
what results people get.
cheers

The line is not a standard feature of QHY camera's. Not sure what it is though, program used to debayer/stack? If it was directly in line with a star then I would say your clamping setting is incorect but it is not that. Great field Steve, certainly works well with the camera lens.

I get the same line when I use both Neb and DSS, Mark
