Imaging Mars this evening with pretty poor seeing in Brisbane I thought I'd give it a go to capture Phobos and/or Deimos. Shooting first and asking questions (of Stellarium) later I think I managed to get an image of Deimos. Phobos is too close to the planet's glare.
Canon EOS 600D in 10x movie crop mode, 6400ISO, 2000 or so frames each 1/30th sec at 30fps at prime focus of a 12" Sky-Watcher Goto Dobsonian. Stacked in Registax and various levels/gradient maps in Photoshop to bring out the moon. Stellarium image attached for reference.
Thanks for looking,
Tom

Here is a single frame from the video, and the stacked result prior to any other adjustments.

Hi Tom
That's an amazing capture, well done.
It's strange that it was only a few days ago I was thinking to myself if anyone has ever tried to capture the moons of Mars.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I have found that the faintest objects I can image with the 600D video (1/30th sec at 6400ISO) and the 12" Dobsonian is about the 14th magnitude.
