Hello all, had to move all my gear to repaint my deck then my alignment was off for ages on Friday night. Still not perfect. Took this of the supernova remnant Crab with iso 1000, 3 minute 20 secs subs , home modded 450D, about 10 were useful after discarding the rest.
8" reflector guided with mini guider and SSAG/PHD, EXIf was 18-20'C.
Processed in DSS and StarTools.
So now for the other Messier objects!!
Graz from Taz.

Graham,

I'm surprised that you can even see it from Hobart; it's low enough in the northern sky murk from here in Southern Vic.

Anyway, well done!

Chris

wow that's great! congratz!:) THis is probably slightly off topic but tried looking for the crab nebula for two nights in a row without much success in Brisbane suburbs, average viewings, 8" dob. I swear I'm pointing in the right place! there's nothing there.

Top shot Graham. You've really got some detail coming out there.
