I have been into taking panoramas of stunning landscapes over the last several years. I have several still to process.

I have also shot some in both infrared and colour (Lake Tahoe USA) and developed a technique to create a colour/IR composite I like.

But these here are regular colour panoramas. Most are 5 or 6 images stitched. One is about 10 (Daylesford Victoria).

Camera was Canon 40D with 28-135 lens. Click on original at the bottom of the image to get the larger image and you can explore inside the image.

Hi Greg
Nice panoramas , what software do you use for the stitching ? is it simple enough for a luddite like me ?
If you haven't seen them already a bloke called Richard Green takes excellent panoramas with a DSLR ( x about 20 frames ) and prints them up to 1.5 x 4.5 Meters , He has a book out called Remote and Wild well worth checking out.

Thanks
Zane

Yes I'll have to dig them out. I took several of Lake Tahoo in both IR and colour so I could do a colour/IR composite and those IR/Colour composites on that site were the research of how to combine IR/Colour.

Yeah there's only one Grand Canyon!

I'll check out his work.

I use the Panorama Factory version 5.0 64 bit. Its inexpensive and works very well.

One thing with Panoramas I learnt is file control. After you've taken several it is often confusing which images belong to the Panorama and which are just regular images. That can be so confusing that I didn't do the Daintree pano for 1.5 years because I could not work out which images were the pano ones. I worked it out only recently!

So now I have decided to take a shot of the sky at the start and one at the end just so I know where they start and end. Or a shot with my hand in it at the start and one at the end. Or a separate memory card only for panos. Same with astro mosaics. It can be like a jigsaw puzzle later on. Good numbering/names is essential.

Greg.
