I have had trouble locating a bag or case to protect my scope.

I got a quote from an online store for a bag and one to fit my scope would cost $150 + $15 postage from South Australia I think it was.

I have the following questions to ask.

1) Where can I grab a budget but decent bag/case to fit my scope?
2) If there isn't one, I wouldn't mind making one. What materials do I need and how can I go about making one if anyone here has made one?

Thanks.

i tried to find a budget bag for my 120ST, orion in the US have some reasonably priced ones but they don't ship - i ended up with one form casesandcovers - cost about 120 freighted, which is expensive but i couldn't be bothered rustling something else up

an old instrument case might work for you

I just got the dimensions of my scope and tripod rough estimates.

Scope: 650mm length x 300mm width x 120mm deep
Tripod: 1300mm length x 300mm on the chunky end and about 150mm on the thinner end

just realised the 1300mm is with the tripod fully extended, i forgot to put the legs in, so maybe half that??? no idea
