Was out doing a bit of a solar watch yesterday and was stunned to see the brightest and most massive plage I've seen since I got my Ha filter. It looked like someone had gouged a slice out of the surface and the flesh underneath could be seen. Only lasted about 30 minutes before settling down. Then I saw this (http://www.theage.com.au/technology/sci-tech/feeling-the-heat-as-storm-erupts-on-the-sun-20120124-1qej4.html) opn the Age web site and realised I'd seen the aftermath of this massive CME. I was very excited. Hope someone on IIS got to image it.
