Hi,
Well thats all folks!
Can't squeeze any more out of my camera or processing.
I was going to do 10 x 150 to 180 sec exposures, but ended up doing 6 x 240 sec at ISO 3200.
That seemed the only way to get anything, tried ISO 1600, nothing. Even tried ISO 6400, too noisy. Plus it's a very warm night so thats no help.
Anyway, you can all breath a sigh of relief.
Cheers,
Justin.:)
Well done and thankyou for your great images over the last few weeks Justin.

A magnificent effort Justin. :)
Though I wonder if you could get hold of a 20D or 30D. I bet you could squeeze a few more nights in. They are very low noise in comparison to these new cameras.

Thanks Liz and jj.
It's been good experience seeing how far I could go with Lovejoy.
It will interesting to see if Lester can pull any more rabbits out of the hat.
He has a 20D
Thanks,
Justin.

You have done very well to capture the fading comet so well Justin. In the beginning I was using the 20Da to capture the comet and as it faded and could get it from the observatory, switched to the Astro 40D that is cooled and helps in these summer nights.
All the best.

My Astro 40D cools to 17 degrees below ambient, the new 5D MK ll are cooled to 28 degrees below ambient. By Central DS of Korea. Something to think about.
:lol: Comet Lovejoy has made me buy a bew camera, though The Wet Season has prevented me from taking any more images, and lucky with wat I got.
You did great with your camera Justin, but temptation is always out there!! :D

Thanks liz and Lester.
Your right Liz there's a lot of temptation.
That's the trouble with this astro imaging, makes you want to go the next step, and the next step and so on.
Damn addictions!!
Cheers,
Justin.
