So according to this link (http://www.airlockalpha.com/node/8875/blood-chrome-may-not-premiere-until-2013.html) ,B&C will not air till 2013 ( possibly later for us in aus).
There are no specific reasons as to why the late release except some wishy washy "economics" and 'post -production' reasons.

""it seems "Blood & Chrome" is requiring much more work in post-production. For instance, even though the pilot for B&C was filmed months ago, Syfy executives only got to see a first cut of the pilot in November, Stern said.""

"" "We're trying to figure out the economics right now," he said.""

According to the link, the pilot has been filmed.

My question is why?
What "economics" would delay the release for over a year?
Surely computers these days can render faster than 2 years ago?

Anyone have a reasonable answer?

It took me a while to realise this, but post-production doesn't just include computing power, it also needs people.

In a traditional film, "post production" starts after the actors have filmed their bits (principal shooting). Editing, music, CGI, voice recording, etc. are all part of it. Basically, putting together the entire film.

In animated/digital works it is much the same. All the background, dialogue synching, music and final rendering are all part of post-production.

It wouldn't surprise me if they just ran out of money or funding.
