Hi folks,
last week we had some clear nights. So I captured some data of M78 with the TL APO 80/480 and the Moravain G2-8300 from my balcony.
Processing only with Theli and PixInsight. L 15x600s, RGB 11x600s for every channel.

Beautiful smooth field of a faint object. The colours and details are very nice. Well done.
That would be candidate for a mosaic the barnard loop being so close. There is a real nice fainter nebula at 10 o'clock on the other side of the loop.

Thanks folks!
I hope I don`t weary you. But I did a reprocessing today. I think it is an improvement. Colour calibration with Theli completely. The rest with PixInsight.

Do you think it is better now? The feedback in this forum is always a great help for me.

I think the original looks better, more details in the bright bits, more red nebulosity showing, the orange/yellow stars look great and overall it just looks more balanced and pleasing .

Yup original is beautiful, subtle and totally "real" feeling. Almost like looking through glass and seeing it sitting, glowing on the other side. Beautiful work.
The repro looks a little "strained".
Cheers,
Cam
