I'm so stoked to have managed to image this conjunction with Lovejoy and the LMC. Shot through sucker holes. Only 2x4 min.
Canon 550d @ iso1600
Canon Nifty 50 @ f3.5
I had to use the "dust and scratches" filter to remove most of the stars because they drowned out the comet.
This is the second image of the evening. 7 x 4 minutes of data this time.
Sadly couldn't get the comet as bright as I'd like.
But I did notice this time that NGC 1672 shows as a fuzzy green spot near the head of the comet. :)
And once again I filtered a lot of the stars out to bring out the comet.
The poor old camera was working at 24 degrees. :( 14 degrees above it's preferred temp.
If it's clear tomorrow night, I'll try it with the modded 20D and see how that goes re. noise.
Clewd disappear......
