celestron GPS for Synscan

Hi, not sure if this is the right thread or I should be posting under the DIY thread :shrug:
Anyway, has anyone heard of (or done) converting a celestron GPS unit (CN16) to work with Synscan controller (EQ6 Pro)?
I don't have the wiring instructions of the CN16, nor the skills with electronics, but thought it might be possible to use the CN16 with Synscan. But just not sure of the degree of difficulty with such a conversion. :help::thanx:

I've been wondering this too, does anyone have the pinouts/protocol for the GPS on the EQ6/EQ5 synscan models?

I've been wondering if I can retrofit my Nikon GPS unit to work with it.

It looks like it would be possible, this company sells a single GPS units, with different cables to connect to various controllers.

The sysnscan official GPS unit is actually made by Unitraq and uses the standard cheap GPS chip.
Sysnscan had them make one with custom firmware, the damn thing should be about $40.

Looking positive. The next step would be to locate the wiring of the R11 cable of the GPS to match that of the input of the Synscan.
