Hey all.

Tonight I went outside for a few hours with my telescope.

I have a 130SLT Celestron.

It was such a nice night except for the damn mosquitos! I saw 4 satellites and 1 shooting star.

I went to use SkyAlign and I am still having problems with it.

Mainly it cannot find a match and says alignment failed. After a few goes it came up with a successful alignment!

I entered Jupiter into the pad but the telescope pointed the wrong way.

All the settings were entered in correctly.

Anyone have any suggestions or help?? I have not been able to use the features of the inbuilt computer yet because I cannot get this SkyAlign working properly.

Thanks!

IIRC, the 130SLT does not come with a GPS so just make sure you have put in your location correctly (make sure you have the right hemispheres) and that the time and date are as accurate as you can make it. Also, double check the timezone setting (along with any DLS setting).

Cheers,
Simon

Also double check that the stars you are pointing at are the ones you think they are.
