Just went looking through the site to see what I have at my disposal and found The Monthly Observing Challenge. Why did it stop back in 05? Did people stop wanting it or it didn't get enough attention or the people organising it (Rob Charteris (xrekcor), Andrwe Durick, Mike Salway and John Bambury) get bored or something?

I would LOVE to have a challenge set out for me each month and the amount of amateur / New astronomers would feel the same I suspect.

What does everyone else think?

I enjoyed those too when I could get involved in it. Definitely useful for a newbie like me learning the sights.

The Obs Challenge did have a revival. I & a few others compiled several Obs Challenges in the Obs. & Visual forum. The link below will take you to a thread in the Beginners Forum where a list of them is noted:

If there is more interest in providing fresh challenges, I can look at setting new ones.

I hope this helps.
