Hi guys,

Here is my first attempt of m42 through my 8SE with a QHY9 and a 0.63x reducer.

RGB = 60 seconds by 10 shots
Lum = 80 seconds by 10 shots

I have an aim to start doing some 10+ minute exposures soon, but this was just a trial to test the equipments working order.

Cheers
Sam

Agreed!

What is the light pollution like around your place?

Cheers

I have a street light about 15 to 20 metres shining directly on the scope and myself. As for light pollution, there was no moon up and I could JUST make out the LMC through averted vision.

You can actually see the lens flare/glare I get from the street light in the bottom right of the image, it looks like an upside horseshoe that I have tried to blend out.
