Seeing was much steadier last night. I've reluctantly come to accept that narrowband imaging is all I'll be able to manage from my inner suburban backyard. Skies are mag 3.5, even worse facing due north. I was pleased to see Alnitak's companion showing so clearly.

That's nice, at least u can still image with NB :) Now to add some colour if u want with the SII and OIII or just HA. U can always add RGB when u get to some dark skyies later on.

Geat looking photo Graeme.
Sharp and nice tonal range. Composition is pretty good also.
I have also started doing monochrome Ha shots with a QHY9 from my suburban Sydny back yard.
I think they look great and it gives something useful to do between the 4 or 5 dark site trips I manage each year if I am lucky.

Nice mate, I really like the composition and how smooth the image is from all that data. Time to dig a hole at my place and put in a pier. So you can come down and just get the RGB as you need.

Sounds good, but a pier in the middle of your driveway might be a slight obstacle to cars.

I was thinking on the next block.;)
Seriously though I reckon we have to put in two or three further down the block. Time to get the chain saw out.

One of the best if not the best Ha I've seen of the area. The details are amazing so are the stellar profiles. Expertly processed.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Marc. I was pretty happy with the way it came out. I'm capturing some RGB photons tonight if all goes well. Don't have a clue how to combine them with Ha though.
