Hi all,

One of the highlights of my recent trip to Tasmania (along with seeing Comet Lovejoy from dark skies (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=85235)) was doing a two day cruise on my sister's yacht. We sailed from Orford north past Maria Island and the Ile des Phoques ("Island of Seals"), up the exposed eastern side of Schouten Island and into Schouten Passage. After a late afternoon swim in freezing cold but beautiful blue water on the southern tip of Freycinet Peninsula, we headed back to a sheltered anchorage on Schouten Island guided by a pod of dolphins. Next morning we continued up the western side of Freycinet Peninsula to Coles Bay, and then sailed across Great Oyster Bay under spinnaker to Swansea. Here are some photos from the trip.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

And here are the rest! (The 5th one in this set is a pair of sea eagles. I wish i'd had a 400mm telephoto for these!)

Great shots Stephen. The colour of the water in #6-#8 in the first lot is just brilliant.

I'd sometimes love to be able to go on a boat to be able to photograph places you normally can't get to.

Thanks Mike! The colour of the water was amazing.

Yes, I know what you mean about a boat giving you access to interesting locations. I've seen lots of amazing coastline from the water, which most people don't know is there. I'm very fortunate to have access to my sister's boat from time to time!

Cheers,
Stephen
