View Full Version here: : On the launch pad
Very excited tonight.
Jetstream map looks promising. Beautiful clear early evening. Sky a nice dark blue. C9.25 outside set up and cooling.
Am getting ready to star test and tweak collimation if necessary.
Jupiter's a little close to a fairly big and bright moon but I'm gonna go for it with the NexImage anyway. Will fit the dewshield and hope that provides a little contrast.
Otherwise, I'll just have some fun touring the sky:thumbsup:

fingers crossed
Everything crossed here DP. It's bringing tears to my eyes!
Just had a peek through the scope. Seeing not good right now. Stars breaking down quite badly through the 13mm.
Still, tiz only early in the night.
Wind has also just picked up a little in the last half hour.
Patience, young man. Patience.

well that sucked,
cloud as i got outside!!
A non-event, I'm afraid.
75% humidity around 11pm and dew everywhere. Caught a few avis around 1-30 for the heck if it and the humidity had moved to >80%
Clouds rolled in around 2am

Sorry to hear that Matt & Davo, better luck next time.
The good news Asi, is that I managed to capture a little more detail than in prior attempts. Caught a few white ovals and more detail in the main EQ belts.
They're quite obvious after a quick run through Registax.
I'll post an image soon after a little more processing.
Appears the tweaking of the c9.25 collimation was successul. I've not been game up till now to have a crack at it but you know how it is. You don't start to get it right until you get it wrong!!!!

Do you have bobs knobs installed, or do you just use a philips head screw driver for the collimation tweaking?
Looking forward to the pic.
The Knobs ... mate. The Knobs!
