Hi

Was lucky enough to get a 2nd hand Lunt60/DS/PT/B1200 scope for Xmas.

Man, the Sun looks :eyepop:with his thing. Blows my PST out of the water.

A friend and I used his D90 camera to take this pic yesterday afternoon.

Not sure of the exposure time or other settings, I wasnt driving the camera.

We used eye piece projection with a Meade wide angle 20mm

Im pretty happy with it for a first go ..it can only get better..right?

This is something I could really get into.:D

:) Very nice photo ERG fot 1st attempt , promonances are easilt seen , I had a friend loan me her PST for a while when she was overseas and this solar viewing is so addictive , I had trouble giving it back .
.. what are you doing with you old PST?
Brian.

:thanx: Brian...and, yes, agreed its totally addictive. Only had the 60 out three times so far and its shown me something new everytime.

Today I was stunned to see what I think could have been a prom coming off the face rather than the limb. ?? It was an amazing sight.

Sorry Brian but the PST has gone to the science department at the local secondary college.:(

The PST was great and it got twice as good when I went from the included Kelner, to some Bintel Plossls and much better again when I got an Orion Zooom (The surface contrast was so much better). I can only wonder what a good quality EP would do for the view.

The view without the double stack is great but the real :eyepop:happens with the DS attached. The whole thing turns into a wonderland of structure, contrast and depth and despite what ive read, proms are still readily visable and sharp.

PS - Your friend got her scope back OK then?:)
