One of the best day's cricket I've ever watched.

Clarke - 329 (not out) and Hussey (150)

Australia - 4/659 in response to India's 191

It worries me to put scores up, but not being at all superstitious, it's OK.

Go boise :D

EDIT: Declared!

Clarke was on his way to the worlds highest score, and had already passed that which stood at the SCG since 1904. I respect a captain who declares in lieu of pushing for records.

Awesome batting display by Clarke, Hussey AND Ponting.

Indeed! :) Sorry, yes, forgot that Ricky's century was the fifth scored in the single innings. Pretty convincing display of test batsmanship.

Well as they say, if we can do it so can they  they have Tendulka and they still have multiple days :help:

Probably 70/30 for an Aussie win though I'd recon.

Great to see what a thrill, must be an awesome day for all the people in the crowd. Its great to see Aussies doing so well. What an amazing score by those three Aussie batsman. That score by by Clarke is really something.

A little surprised to see them just declare,Thought Clarke might go for 400,but imagine the guy would have been very fatigued.Almost feel a bit sorry for Tandooka-it did appear his moment to shine.

Go Aussies:D

Been watching on the plasma display at work.

What a boring flat wicket.

As great as it is to see high scores, it was getting /really/ old and boring!

I hope Tendulkar reaches his 100th century.

Boring flat wicket? That description depends on the side you support  It's a great batting wicket - for both teams. It's still in good condition for the Indian openers. Potential for big scores are what tests are all about - otherwise they'd all be one-dayers.

I also hope that the Little Master earns his century during the 100th test at the SCG too. What a match :)

Oh, I'm impartial. :)

Just enjoying the game. Haven't watched a test in soooo long.

I'm sorry I'm at work - more sorry than normal. :( I've been ducking out of the lab regularly to 'check my emails'. I'll shoot off ASAP and hopefully see a few wickets fall.

BTW some big scores in South Africa too. Apparently Kallis doesn't want to retire either.

I hope he doesn't, South Africa play so well, hes so important to them.
Suid Afrika is die beste!:P

My 2'bob's' worth.

Congratulations to the three triple digit score makers. Its been a long time since Australia has done that.
I doubt whether Tendulka will make that 100th century against Australia.
He is not the young Maestro he used to be and facing the rejuvenated pace attack, the Aussies have, it is a major task.

Sachin Tendulka was playing test cricket a year before James Pattinson opened his eyes to this world. ST held up his bat to his first test century before JP could hold his first bottle.

The Aussie bowling attack has lifted the confidence of the team. They have a real swagger on the ground. While the Indians are chasing dignity, they are teetering. Once ST loses his wicket the rest of the team will capitulate. Not as bad as a total "throw in the towel" though.
The condition of the wicket is too good and India will score around the 350-400.

Time will tell how wrong I will be. ( "wrong" maybe is not the appropriate word. It is an absolute term and not subject to gradation.)

Cheers

Michael Clarke has the best bowling economy figures at moment too, 1 for 17 off 7 at 2.43...if they win the test can you imagine his head :eyepop:

Win the test, get the highest score by an Ausssie on home soil, man of the match aaaand get the worlds best batsman out to boot

They're beginning to fall like flies in a Mortein test.

Its such a shame about Tendulkar. India relies on him so much.
There is a lot of pressure on the Little Maestro. Its unfair.

However have you seen his new house? 7 storey mansion.

4 levels above the ground, 3 below. $8.8million or about that.
