The topic this month is: "Solitary".

This thread is only for posting your entries and any comments you'd like to make about your own photo.
If you would like to comment on other entries please use the comments thread.
As usual, one entry per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum rules and image size applies.

The image doesn't necessarily have to have been taken this month but we do encourage you to go out and enjoy the challenge.

The winner of the poll, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic.

Good luck and good shooting.

Old Photo (circa 1995/6). Whitehaven Beach. Tried to clean up the pic as much as I can.
If there are no objections I just wanted to add what my (ex) girlfriend wrote on the back of the pic.

A solitary figure (me) looks out toward some of the beautiful landscape in a break from our journey through Australia, hope this makes the cut. :)

Last Easter at " Gunn Point " about 3 hours north east of Darwin , thru totally wrecked metal roads after cyclone Carlos , washouts that a house would dissapare into ! .
Not a soul for 100's of km's . I spent the night there , just me and my 4x4 and ED80 scope.
really peaceful and super dark.
Brian.

Out of principle, I never appear in photographs. I enjoy shooting weddings, and portraits, and landscapes, and the stars, but, I will never turn the camera on myself.

However, every now and then, you conjure a thought, or, a concept, which can be not be expressed in words, but, only in the form of an image. Therefore, I relaxed the rules for this composition.

To give you an idea how much it sucks viewing images on screen, in just an 18x12" print, individual hair on my arms can be resolved.

I can see this month is going to be tough to choose. Anyway, here is my entry.

Went to visit the inlaws in Whyalla on the weekend and stopped at Hancock's lookout on the way back (we took the long way).

Moolort Plains, Central Victoria. I am often struck by the old survivors in this very changed landscape. Fortunatley not by any branches that they may drop.
