View Full Version here: : Who does cooled dslr mods??
Hey all,
I have a 5D and a 350D and would like to know where I could get either of them cooled. I've emailed Yun from Centralds and he informs me that they no longer provide the cooling mod to either of these models (just my luck)!
Can anyone suggest another place to try?!? Don't really want to bother with buying a another camera since I have two already.
:help:
Cheers in advance.

Try these guys if you are happy to send it away. I have to admit though their website is a bit vague on the actual mod as far as I saw when I looked a while back.

No problem. I was very close to ordering a modded camera off them but one came up for sale on here. If you do get them to do it let us know the results for future reference.

Likewise.... Scanning for next bit of kit(canon...) and short step away from either building own cooler and/or ripping out ir filter on camera I don't have yet using skills I do not possess. (dontcha just lurve step by step instructions)
If there is more info on what exactly their mod is then a simple post it note dropped into wifes handbag labelled handy hints for birthday will save me a world of diy pain...

Looks like one of our IIS member "Alexch" - the world-renowned person who won a world class award for his time-lapse imagery recently and won a trip to Tenerife etc - has used the conversion service
Picked this up in the "Testimonials" section of the website
Perhaps a PM to Alex Cherney to get his honest opinion might be in order

This doesn't look like a cooling system as such for $200 the last time I looked at Peltier cooling system for a DSLR the cost put it in the range of a OSC CCD camera
I'd be asking for more information

After reading the thread I sent Spencers Cameras an email, they replied that the cooling mod is a heat sink.

Heatsink, indeed it is, but maybe useful none the less.
"Thank you for contacting us. Our heat reduction system is a complicated type of heat synch system that draws heat from the imaging sensor and disperses it throughout the camera frame and body. The longer the exposure or the more successive the exposures the better it works. All without any additional power needs. "
