Reworked deep eta carina pic

Hi all
Ive just used IRIS to reprocess a 2x 10 minute Eta Carina pic, the original was dark and bias subtraced and flat fielded with Iris, then tonight I used the Gamma Adjustment function to enhance the faint detail while keeping the bright stuff intact, that is not "clipping" the histogram.
Taken with my modded 350D, Noise reduction off as I used Iris for the dark subtraction, 10 inch F5.6 newtonian, Baader UHCS filter abd Baader MPCC.

Yes I am having fun :) especially since mastering this gamma select function in Iris, its sorta like a more manual version of the "Digital Development" function in Images Plus. Iris also has this handy function Paul "Photoncollector" put me onto called "black". To use, draw a small box on a black area of sky, then open the command window and type "black" then hit enter. It will set the background black. Then type "offset 500" hit enter, that will lighten the background a bit, only now it will be a nice neutral greay, in other words any colour cast is removed, effectively giving an instant correct colour balance. Its a VERY handy function.

Yes tornado33 the bar keeps going up thanks to you. To start to compete with IR telescopes is one thing (Humunclus Nebula pic) but to tease out nebula detail like you have with this picture is great to see. Shows we all have a lot to learn still. Can't say much more than that, but I will keep following in your wake, if I can.
