abit itchy steve. what is the eye relief on it?

These are 5 element Plossls and I believe they have slightly more eye relief than the 4 element ones; e.g. my 5 element 15mm Antares Elite Plossls have at least 1-2mm more eye relief than my 4 element 15mm Televue Plossl. But the eye relief is still proportional to the focal length for either design, and at 7.5mm, I would expect it to be fairly short.
Ving, can you comment on eye relief with your 7.5mm Ultima?

These would make an excellent planetary eyepiece for those with 12" GSO dobsonians giving 200x mag.
Three years ago, I bought a 12.5mm of the same series for $240 :scared:
I have one of these as my main planetary EP, ER is tightish but not any tighter than any other EP is this bracket.
I canhighly recomend it tho, it will give you great views of the planets as its nice and contrasty (is that a word). these are comparable to Televue plossls in quality, but are a tad more expensive to buy new.
Steves price is good for what you'd be getting.
and steve's eye has not worn it out :P
ok, wheres my commission? ;)

These eyepieces are great, I can't believe my bad luck, just had one delivered last week for much more money. Good luck to the people who get them though.

In Melbourne, Roger Davis at Bintel has caps. Maybe he has cups too (he's got lots of bits-n-pieces). Frontier optics supply eyecups with their HD orthos, so they might be able to get them for you too.
... and while the thread is being bumped, a reminder to all that one eyepiece is still for sale. ;)

Would these work in a ETX125 Meade or a 14" Meade Truss-Dob at all?

The eyepiece will work in any telescope that accepts 1.25" eyepieces, which normally means that it has either a 1.25" focuser or a 2" focuser with a 2-to-1.25" adapter. Just about all "real" telescopes qualify in this regard. The only telescopes the eyepiece will not be suitable for is ones with very long focal lengths, e.g. large SCTs, which get too much magnification from a 7.5mm eyepiece.

Have just tried out my eyepiece on jupiter. Excellent and great value.
Found the eye relief not to be a major concern
Thanks
