My attempt at Comet Lovejoy just below the southern cross very very faint.
Canon EOS 1100D, F/3.5, ISO 400, 30sec exposure.

Actually, shooting it at ISO400 has given your pic an "arty" feel. Like the stars were flicked on from the end of a brush, with your fingers :)

Nice capture, I like the trees silhouette framing around the comet action, nicely contrasted and composed .

Thanks everyone, was my first time with this type of astrophotography and a DSLR camera. Image was heavily processed. I couldn't see the comet with the naked eye but knew it was there.
Its amazing that it picked it up with light pollution around.
