Comet Lovejoy- A Tribute Video.

As the time is hastily approaching for our favourite “Little Comet That Could” to exit our skies, who cannot but help reflect on what a ride and a Christmas it’s been. This has prompted me to make a keepsake video that we can all share and enjoy.

I hope none of you mind that I have used some of your pictures on this video. The only pictures (apart from NASA’s) I’ve used on the video are from this thread (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=83929) only. I hope the video portrays a personal journey of how it touched us by using pictures taken from not just astro-photographers on here, but just everyday happy snaps thereby giving (I feel) a more balanced and personal feel to the video. Those of you who stood and had their pictures taken next to the comet made it even more personable. A picture with a large sign with Terry’s name written in the dark with a torch was another “memorable” and “personable” addition. Thank you to all of you who contributed so many fabulous pictures which has enabled me to produce this keepsake video.

I chose the song "I drove all night" to accompany the video as many of us can relate to the long drives we had to do in the wee hours of the morning to view it- especially Terry & Co with their 600km round trip on the 23rd.
Hope you all enjoy it.

What a great tribute to our little Christmas wanderer. I don't know of any other comet that got such royal treatment? I guess having it's discoverer as a frequent poster on these forums fuels it's popularity. Thanks for sharing it with us Suzy, was really enjoyable.. Congratulations to everyone that was featured in the video too, remarkable photographs.

Almost bought a tear to my eye watching it. Watching the evolution of this comet over the last month and now it's almost gone forever. I wonder what is the next big thing to happen.

Great work Suzy - very creative too to get all those pics together - must have taken yonks :eyepop:
A fitting tribute to our local hero (and really nice guy) + the first "great comet" I've ever observed and photographed.
