 YEP! Another Comet Lovejoy thread :P

Here's my attempt from Snake Valley.

Canon 350d DSLR with 18~35mm kit lens at full 18mm wide-angle, on Tripod.
4 x 30 seconds at 1600 iso, stacked in Registax 4.
Tweaked in PhotoShop to try clean up the fog I imaged through (it didn't work).
That skyglow is Geelong! :eyepop:

Best I could do, sorry.

Just another one to the collection

Welcome to the club! I like your framing, and it looks like you caught some of the green airglow too.

hey thanks guys. :)

I thought it was pretty ordinary after seeing all the great ones coming in
Just ignore the bit of field rotation up the top right corner :P

Mate, you did well enough with the camera you have:). Gotta remember, the guys with all the neat pics also have really neat gear too....I'd like a Nikon D700 or 7000, or a Canon 5D MkII and all the groovy tracking gear and $1200 software to process it with (if I had to)....but if you can't afford it, you just have to do the best with what you have:)

Thanks Carl, and so true.

But I still personally like it anyway because I took it
and I have a record of it now

It actually looked very nice naked eye. I stood and just looked at it for over half an hour.
And then (no matter how strange this sounds, it makes sense to me) I took my glasses off and looked at it really naked eye!

And now I am a happy chappy in seeing it :)
Thanks Terry. Now roll out the next one :P

Hey nice one Ken! Also shows off your magnificent dark sky you have there
Had been thinking of coming up but all I have seen every night/morning has been clouds here.:(
Tonight is looking a lot more promising. Might whip up the road here and have a crack of whats left of it anyway.;)

Thanks for posted Ken. My wife and I watched it that morning, the last time we could see the comet naked eye.

It was still naked eye here this morning Terry
Wren (Quoll) and I set up at the Clubsite and watched it. From about 2:30am it started to become obvious, but faint.
