Hi All
Imaged Jupiter last night in quite reasonable conditions and the predictions for tonight are even better. Hope this trend continues into 2012.
Have attached 2 RGB & 2 807nm IR data sets.
I think this is the best resolution of Oval BA I have had thus far this apparition.
Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor

Great images Trevor, also love the IR.
I have neglected Jupiter in recent times, what with Lovejoy and my SN photometry project, so it's nice to see some fresh images in good seeing.

Very nice work Trevor. Maybe a bit of neglect was required for Jupiter to put on a good show.

Very nice going Trevor. Looking OK down this way as well for tonight, but the 40kph breeze is a bit of a killer. Regards Ray

Thanks Ivan, it certainly was a change to see some quite fine detail within the EZ and BA in the raw data from the live feed.
Thanks Michael, I always monitor the seeing predictions and if there had been good seeing over the last week then I would have been imaging the planets and not Comet Lovejoy, the quality of the seeing is far less important for deep sky work. That said I did enjoy refamiliarizing myself with my 450D.
Thanks Lester, certainly looking forward to a big year with Saturn in 2012.
Thanks Ray, your data from the same night is also most impressive, hope this is a trend that will continue for us. Have just come in from my observatory and conditions tonight have been very ordinary, I plan on getting up early tomorrow morning though and having a crack at Saturn.
Thanks Matt, my first data set tonight was fair but it all went downhill quite rapidly after that. Hoping for better luck in the morning with Saturn.
Thanks Troy.

Nice work Trev, very fine detail showing and I bet you were wishing it would just get a little better on the seeing at the time. I have all but given up for this apparition on Jupiter.

Mighty fine Trev.
One thinks you would be extremely happy with this result.
Cheers Kev.

Thanks Paul, yes, just a little better seeing would have made for some really corker images but this is still better than I have had for some time.
Thanks very much Kev, certainly am.
