Wow, what a great morning!
Totally surprised that the skies had sucker holes big enough to image through :)
Shelly and Jase joined me here in Kilcoy. Found a great spot just 2 minutes from home!!! LOL There was much chanting going on. Cleewd Disappear.....
Thanks for the loan of the lens too. It was greatly appreciated.
Soooo tired, this is my 3rd all nighter in a row.
Anyway ...
Camera Canon 550D @ iso 1600
Canon 10-22 lens @ 10mm F??
Various exposure times....1 minute for the dodgy group photo
2 minutes for full frame and 1.5 min for crop.
No processing apart for the crop. oh, and fixing up the lens distortion on the photo bomb.
But other than that, no processing. LOL
Just added original group self portrait...entitled...Warped Factor 3
If I was truly keen, I'd upload the recording I made of us chanting to the clouds.

have to be happy with those JJJ, the clouds really add to the scene.
Great stuff Jeanette, lovely foreground, I am so over trying to get a clear night, by the time that happens it will be gone i reckon, well done indeed.

Yep, nice ones jjj!! I had a loooovley sleep in after many nights of very broken/minimal sleep!!
OH Leon, that is a shame. : (

Oh no :( It looks like we'll be having clear skies again in the morning!!
I don't know if I can take any more of this.
I had 3 all nighters in a row.
But I might see if our secret lake side position from this morning will give the reflection image I'm aching to capture.

I am amazed that I have heard an astronomer saying OH no :( it looks like we will be having clear skies again in the morning you should be ashamed of your self JJJ:P:rofl: Make hay while the LoveJoy shines.

Wonderful images JJJ, I appreciate the views, as I haven't had clear enough skies to see the whole comet since the 23rd. I glimpsed part of its tail this morning, and your shots confirms for me that I did see it.
Thanks.

Great shots JJJ :):)
I'd say that lens you got a lend off Shelley and Jase was pretty fast, given the ISO/FL and exp' length.

Fabulous, Nettie, and love the photobombers!!
Leon, I saw Comet Lovejoy this morning, but the only way I could pick it was that it was the only cloud that was vertical, and not moving lololol.

Nice wide field JJJ. Shows the size of the comet well.

Good stuff Jeanette! Go on, a 4th day is required to sate the Gods of cometry (is there such a word lolz). My mum must think I'm a vampire, cos I'm up all night and sleeping all day ;-) if it's clear tomorrow morning, I'll have another crack at it myself.

Great pics JJJ
I had no joy this morning!
Awesome shots J, really awesome. I don't think I'll be able to lend you the 10-22 next time.. that looks too delicious! Thanks again for letting us come and harass you, was much better than where we were :) (PS I think the 10-22 is f3.5-4.5)

Despite the Clewds, I think you got some nice shots there (I quite like the first and second!). To be honest I didn't think we would have much clear sky last night so you, Jase and Shelley did well I reckon.
The change coming through tonight should help blow/wash a lot of the crud away and I reckon the transparency will be good tommorrow morning for some more comet viewing. Am thinking of making a trip myself :)

I'm with Humuyan, love that 2nd one. I think the clouds actually add quite a bit to the image too in their own way.
Hope tonight is a killer too JJJ. Wish I was out there, but a school night for me.

I agree that #2 is stunning. The 10-22 mm is a fantastic lens, I regret selling mine. I can sympathise with all the late nights... this is tiring work! :)
