This is my first attempt at TL of the stars. The comet is seen towards the end of the clip.

The movie was shot over Dec.25/26 between 1930hr and 0220hrs. Camera and lens used: Nikon D3s, 16/2.8.
ISO was 800 but should have been 1600 and will shoot in RAW not JPG.

Hi James, nice work! I agree with Carl - very dramatic!
Have you tried to push the exposure of the darker frames a bit? It looks like you may have some good data lurking in the shadows there. On my full-frame Canon, I find that shooting RAW gives me up to +/- 3 stops latitude in exposing the middle histogram data... which also means that you can easily render High Dynamic Range shots from individual RAW files.

Hi guys,
I agree with Dave (Naskies) that one should shoot RAW. I will do this as I know I will have more control over the images re ,light levels etc. Will try again tonight. It was just a test to see I go. Now I'm ready for it.
