Hi All,

Merry Christmas, this morning I was up at 2:30am and setup out near our local airport. It was quite cloudy and there was lightening in the South but eventually the cloud in the vicinity of the comet cleared just in time prior to dawn.

Imaged the comet at 5min intervals and have included a link to an animation of 18 images. Note; the animation is 2.7 Mb.

Thanks for looking
Regards

Looks great Trev.
I like the animation.
I was out at the rest area on the wentworth road at 3:30 this morning as well getting a view of a truly Austrailian Christmas Comet.

Cheers and Merry Xmas Trev.

Merry Xmas Trevor:)

Nice shot!!!. What would've been awesome is if you had've got a bolt of lightning in the piccie as well!!!

Very nice Trevor.

The clouds complement your single frame imo. I like it.

Thanks Kev, glad you went out for a look, it was a shame that the cloud hung around for so long.

Thanks Liz, yes, I am quite pleased with the way the comet emerges from the cloud in the animation.

Thanks Carl, it would have been interesting to get a bolt of lightning in the frame for sure but the lightning was far away, just illuminating the Southern horizon occasionally from about 2:30am.

Thanks Rob, much more pleased with the focus of these than the images from Dec 24th.

Thanks Jeanette, isn't it great that so many of us have been able to observe and image this Christmas comet, a pretty special event for sure.

Thanks Lester and thanks for the wonderful view you have provided of this comet.

Thanks Darrin, reckon the cloud does add something to it. The cloud across the horizon certainly helped reduce the glow of the dawn.

Thanks Bob, pleased to get enough data to put into an animation, it looked pretty crook when I first setup with so much cloud about.

Beautiful - those colour frames towards the end are fantastic.
