Hi all,

Another (although wide screen this time) nice pic of the comet showing some foreground for perspective.

Taken with Canon 1000D, 18-55 lens set to 18mm, F3.5 ISO 800, 30 sec exposure.

I hope you like this one, The contrast and relative size of this comet make it a must see XMAS morning, especially with Sydney skies looking cloudless right now, take a look from about 3:30am onwards.

So stoked to be able to see this.

Cheers

Chris

Great stuff Chris - Brisbane is clearing a tad too so I will set the alarm for 2am and take a run to Manly (looking over the water!).
Fingers crossed!!!!

Hey Chris, that wasn't you walking out to Long Reef headland with camera gear at about 5:00am this morning was it?

I was on my way back to the car, had been out there since about 3:15.

Nice! The streaking cloud on the right almost looks like there's another comet ;-)

Thanks Dave,

Unfortunately that streak on the right is from a lone street light, just out of frame up on the hill where I parked my car.

I had the tripod all the way down to try and reduce its effects by hiding the camera behind some bushes, but it didnt work. Maybe a well placed rock would have been better...:)

Cheers

Chris
