Having to manually depress the shutter button and keep it down to get good exposures was a bit of a pain, but well worth it. Reminded me to get a new remote, which I did about an hour ago:):)

Not quite as spectacular as some piccies, but I'm happy with the results, nevertheless:):)

Shot with a Nikon D3000 through a AF-S DX 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 G lens set to 18mm/F3.5 and various exposure lengths (60-70sec) at ISO1600. The pics are all single shot.

Just did a little bit of image jiggery pokery on my shots by playing around with the brightness and contrast. They look a little better than before:)

The blackish dots in the foreground of the trees you can see in the third shot are cows that were nearby. Liz was a little concerned with critters turning up and giving us a hard time, but these guys were a good distance away!!!. Mind you, they sounded pretty close in the cool of the morning:)

Great work, Carl. I think your photos are among the very few that have managed to include Antares and the "pincers" in the shot :)

We had a very good horizon....very flat. With a wide angle lens you could fit the pincers and Antares in.
