Whilst the clouded comet curse continues on the East coast I thought I'd share this image of Mars in poor seeing a couple of days ago. EOS 600D, 5x Powermate, 12" Sky-Watcher Dobsonian. Surface features on this part of the planet are fairly bland.

Thats great Tom, I havent seen a close up of Mars for awhile, and its certainly quite bright in the sky at the moment. Lovely polar caps. :thumbsup:

Pretty good image Tom. I took some video on the 21st, similar result. It's a pretty plain part of the planet, although I think if the seeing was good, you have a chance of catching clouds on the flanks of Olympus Mons?
