This comet is really putting on a show! This shot is from Collinswood, Adelaide.

Great shot. It's nice to have some clear skies. I guess this makes up for missing McNaught as I was overseas.

Hi Ivan.. Nice shot.. I would like to try and get a shot myself.. Is that Venus in the shot? This gives me an idea of what area to face my camera.. Also what time did you take the shot and what camera settings did you use?

Mardy

Thanks Dan.
Not quite as spectacular as McNaught, but still spectacular.
Yes, fabulous clear skies. And for the first time ever I'm on holidays before Christmas, so it was 4am yesterday to have a look at Mars, all night last night for some photometry, then out at 4 am again, this time to look at the comet.
Really enjoying the clear skies and time off!

Martin, I should probably have added this to the post.
Taken with a Canon 400D and standard 18-55mm lens. f/10, 25 sec exposure at ISO1600. You'll want to bring a tripod.
That is the very old moon in the upper left of the frame. The comet is in Scorpius, to the south east.

Curious as to why you imaged with such a high f-number?

I was just trying various settings. I did also take some shots with larger aperture and lower ISO, but the focus was not so good.
