Hi all and Merry Christmas,

In stating what is now common knowledge comet Lovejoy is a fantastic naked eye event. The tail is spanning about 15 degrees and both dust and ion tails are easily seen.

Margaret and I made a supreme effort and got out of a cosy bed at 02:15 to go to the edge of the Avon Valley 10 minutes from home to get these pictures.

They were taken with a Canon EOS 400D at 1600 ISO and 30second exposures. I think I will try 25 seconds tomorrow morning to cut down on the star movement.

For anyone who has not seen it yet I recomend making the early effort as you will not be disapointed. :D :D
