Berto Monard (South Africa) has found a PSN (Possible Supernova) in NGC4945 in the constellation of Centaurus. Any early morning object the PSN is noted at mag 13.9 well within reach of many amateurs.
See the below for an image showing the new object.

Seeing was above average but deteriorated after about 3am

Me too,
This is a superb galaxy. Seeing as many are waiting up to see Comet Lovejoy, NGC4945 would be well positioned. Either way you guys have presented some nice images, great work.
Now who wants to have a go at the latest from Stu & BOSS in NGC10 at mag 18?

Just reading that this supernova (2011ja) is now mag 12.2and rising. Visually this is well within reach of just about all amateur scopes. If this isn't an absolute photo opportunity in a gem of a galaxy I don't know what is. Go for it IISers and send your images to Dave Bishop at the bright supernova page, he will appreciate them! I might place this also under deep sky imaging.

Request from Bright supernova site

2011ja is still amazingly bright at Mag 11.8. If anybody has any
images of NGC 4945 taken in around the discovery date (2011/12/18) I
would be interested in them. We have a neutrino detection which may
have been caused by this event.

my set from this a.m.
DSI II cooled to 11C, dewpoint 9C.
Seeing was terrible.

Looks good, will it rise to +10? SN2011fe in M101 got +10 in September and was visible in binoculars.
