Thanks gary, I can't wait to see it in the mag when I get home.
It looked great in the proof.
I hope the writeup and pics go some way to describing the fantastic event and great time we all had at Lostock for IISAC 2006.
Looks fabulous, reads fantastic and the pictures with the green grass
and sunshine showcase Lostock wonderfully. The article is excellent
exposure for IceInSpace and should encourage even more participants
at Lostock next year.
Congratulations!

I have seen printed in the AS & T article special thanks to Alan Meehan for printing the IIS T-Shirts, which he thoroughly deserved. I have also seen this splashed in several threads on the IIS forum.
No where, have I seen any kudos, to the person that designed the Logo and picture for the IISAC T-shirts free of charge. I think thats pretty average:confused:
I can appreciate it is probably an oversight, but a small note to acknowledge the time and effort put in by a "non forum member" might be appropriate.

Yes Louie's family connection does need to be mentioned, and is an oversight, I am sure Mike will make ammends somehow!

Great article and congratulations to all who had images published.
Thanks AS&T another mag packed full of great articles.
I still laugh every time I read that caption attached to houghy's enormous M42: "unguided" and "not polar aligned"
Imagine if he tried to take a good pic:rofl:

I take offence to that:rofl: , just cause I jag it:lol: for a few short shots:P my polar aligning skills are, well, [1ponders] can best sum that up (pathetic) . I really do want to achieve polar alignment one day so I can get past the 1 minute mark on the timer:D My praise gets heaped on Striker:thumbsup: for his help. One day I might just take a good picture, still waiting though?
That's what I mean Houghy. Such triumph in the face of all efforts to the contrary. There's an episode of the Simpson's where Homer completely lucks it... and the word "Homer" enters the dictionary in a similar context as in to "do a Homer". Sort of where something turns out fabulously in spite of everything working against that outcome.
I'm really very impressed. Honest.;) :P

Louie knows how appreciative I was (and still am) of his son, Theo, for designing the initial IISAC background. It's a brilliant backdrop and gives the camp a great "theme".
He was also thanked publicly when I created the first image using his backdrop.
The fact that he wasn't acknowledged in the article wasn't because his work wasn't appreciated - i'm sure you know that. The article was focussed more on the camp itself and the effort in the days before the camp (which included the printing of the t-shirts 5 days before the camp started!).
