Getting in the festive season, this is a house around the corner from my in-laws' house. The owner regularly wins the local lights competitions. I believe this year he won the best synchronised prize. All the lights are syn'd to music, and absolutely spectacular.

Wow, fantastic!
My house is lit up like a Christmas tree once again (actually, I even have a lit up Christmas tree out there amongst all the lights).
But it is nothing like that house :eyepop:
ooh, very pretty indeed.

Very cool.
The guy up from me in Haberfield has a giant fur tree in his front garden and hires a cherry picker every year to decorate it. He doew an outstanding job of it. Takes him about a month to get the the whole garden done.
I have problems getting motivated to put up the xmas tree let alone all that hoo ha...

I used to work with an Electrical Engineer who has a very sophisticated music-synchronised Christmas light display each year at his house at Rochedale South. He designed and built the control system himself and spends thousands of hours improving it and programming new music every year. It's almost as crazy a hobby as astro imaging

Very nice lights.
I watched this doco on xmas lights and they said chrissy tree lights were good and now these people are on an ego trip.
But I still know it inspires christmas.
Merry Christmas
Cheers Kev.
There was a segment on the news last night about the Christmas lights on houses in Los Angeles. The guy they interviewed was expecting his next electricity bill to be "about $9000" :eyepop:

Great photo,I like the Hoop pine and background sky. Those lights must cost a fortune!
Just come back from a visit down the road,to a lady who won the rural chrissy lights, just from the quick chat, she would have spent at least $500 or more, took her over 6 weeks to put up.She has had 3 transformers go bad-it appears they cannot be replaced.
lots of hard work-as someone on this thread, like astro photography (except the chrissy lights get more use than astro gear!)
