what do you call "You will need a medium to large telescope"..can you give some examples?

also for this "If you want to get those tiny distant other galaxies, you will need a large-aperture telescope"

Something like a 120mm refractor at least, or even better, a 200 to 300mm reflector. I'm talking diameter of aperture.

what about a 8inch SCT?...I guess thats much the same as a 200 Dob but I gather they (SCT) let in less light..yes / no?

okay..i have a SE8

Have pre-ordered a LX80 mount

am now thinking whether to cancel that & get the ioptron ieq45...for the gps alone over the skywatcher neq6, or wait for reviews on LX80, before making a decision

cant tell if the lx80 has GPS or not?

what are bad points between the ieq45 V neq6 otherwise

(I did say I need all the help I can get)

on a wedge on a decent manfrotto work for the Widefield Astrophotography section?

Actually they come with a tripod so the literature says..also next version up has wedge capabilities anyway

Dont confuse this with using the SE8 on it...I am thinking just a camera??

The goto software has to support using a wedge I think, so I'm not sure the one in the link would work.

GPS is really not needed, you can punch your co-ordinates in from your phone etc.

They say they have TRACKING ability....would'nt this work if on a wedge?

I've never seen one of those before so I can't comment. It looks very gimmicky and rubbish IMHO. I could be wrong, but it looks like a short-cut from a real scope or lens. I would biff that idea and try the conventional approach.
