One of my favourite viewing objects. Very clear and focussed, almost as good as visual.

Well done Scott.

Many thanks all.
Though ive taken images of it before, this is the first using proper dark subtraction, and also with the MPCC (coma Corrector).

A superb shot... hope to see it in the Mags !
BTW ... what is the cluster? near the bright star in the upper left of the image ?

Wow! You mean that very dim grey smudge I saw the other night in the 40 mm refractor is supposed to look like that ..... :P

Very impressive shot too by the way.

Howdy Again, thanks. I think its just a chance group of random stars up in the upper left, theres nothing in Star Atlas pro indicating other deep sky objects within the image frame though there is a fainnt galaxy indicated just outside of it.
I was nearly falling asleep when I took the pic too, as the last image was started at 4:01 am :)

Thanks Scott ... it is my new desktop !
I was wondering if any of those ESO galaxies were in the FOV ?

Theres none shown in the charts that I can see , though definately theres a few within a few degrees of Omega centauri. The closest is ESO270-015 Mag 13.2, surface brightness 22.65 as listed in Star Atlas Pro.

That is one dim galaxy Scott !
Our weather is pretty lousy up here ATM
But from next month it should start to improve as the wet season weather patterns start to break up !

Hi Scott,

yeah I agree with everyone else, it's a magnificent image you've produced. Based on prior images of Omega C that you have done, I can certainly say this one is the best because it is so sharp and exposes all of the stars at the centre of the globular. Glad to hear STAR Atlas:PRO is doing well for you too.

Yes, thanks to Star Atlas Pro , allowing me to find so many things to photograph :)
The MPCC coma corrector is brilliant. I never thought I could get such sharp stars to the edge before.
