I would be interested to know where the members come from. I am from Melbourne (forecast for all of this week - cloudy and rainy !). The age one was interesting it showed a good interest from younger people which is posisitive for Astronomy and science in general.

Your not the messiah Humayan, your just a naughty boy.:). And before you all go feeling great pity for me for living in Melbourne, i also live in the south of France where i get to see The Big Dipper and The Andromeda Galaxy, amongst others, in all their glory. I have an old russian TAL 6" newtonian, the mirror is very good, the tube is a solid piece of steel and the mount as solid as a rock - unfortunately as heavy as one too. The whole thing wieghs over 40 kgs.

It's cloudy, raining and miserable in Canberra.

Although, the thunderstorm all of last night was pretty nice.

Hi Peter, I'm out at Wamboin, just east of Canberra.

Weather report: thunderstorms and bucketting down. 39.4mm of rain since 6pm yesterday and no signs of stopping.

The ducks are loving it but the roo's look like giant drowned rats.

There used to be a map with the position of every member who provided lat. and long. somewhere on the site but I can't find it. Some of the positions were obviously wrong (eg in the ocean, in the Great Sandy Desert)

BTW Wollongong - warm and muggy.

I'm In Melbourne, wet and cloudy.

when there are those "occassional" clear nights, I'm amazed to see so many stars. got so accustomed to cloudy skies. Its getting ridiculous and depressing.
Need to move to Hawaii.
someday...

I live in Brisbane but I grew up in Sydney. I've lived in Adelaide and Perth and worked in PNG & Indonesia. But even though Brisbane is my home and I wouldn't live anywhere else for quids, I still consider myself a New South Welshman...

Cheers,
Mario
