Cheers All.
I am wondering if anyone does have any experience with DWI Australia -
online store selling Canon DSLRs?
Tried to call NSW number, NO ANSWER, got ACT number answered - and some guy's answer was just "it is up to you".
They have attractive prices for Canon 600D, shipping from Hong Kong.
Thanks for comments, Nev

JB HiFi are now selling grey import Canon to compete with D-D, DWI etc.
They operatethe same deal as DWI, you buy from them, the goods come direct from Hong Kong and you are liable for all import duties/taxes GST whatever. More and more local retailers/wholesalers are beginning to operate parallel imports just to stay in business. A couple of days ago their site was showing the grey stuff, but I just checked again and the pages are blank.
Of the grey Canon dealers, I've only ever dealt with D-D, and they've been great on every occasion. When you do the sums, D-D works out only a few bucks more than DWI, but you don't have any of the hassle of importing the item yourself, all dues are already paid.
Cheers,
Jason.

Ordered a 600D on a friday afternoon from DWI in H.K,cost was $700 all up for postage insurance.it arrived on the following moday morning at a remote country QLD location.I have ordered 5 items from DWI in H.K all arrive within 3 days.
I'd never buy from locals again.I use to buy from gold coast store-always took 10 days to get here and parcel looked bashed about.
'God is good-but DWI is better'

I think DWI would be great for items under $1000, but once over that the advantage is lost and D-D is a better bet.
Cheers,
Jason.

But for the record, I've bought from DWI on Hotspur's recommendation, and they were terrific. Efficient and fast. If only we could learn from them. We can't be as cheap here. However, we could be as efficient - but they leave us standing.

I bought a video camera from DWI - great price, fast delivery, no issues there.
However, couple of months later the camera just died.
Got RMA form, sent it away for repairs/replacement.
That was over 2 months ago.
If you have a problem - tough luck.
Their repair agent is a joke.
After sales customer support is non existent.:mad2:
I realise majority of people will have no problems with their equipment, but if you do you're on your own...
Can someone please give the full name for this D-D camera gear dealer that has been mentioned here. Ta

Harvey Norman - today I have seen Canon 600D with 2 lens $1049.
Not bad, and you get it straight away.
