Wow!! How about that- I’ve just reached 2,000 posts! :eyepop:

I’ve had so much fun with you’ll on my journey to reach this milestone and I’ve just been reflecting on some fun and heart warming threads I’ve posted.... My Cricket Thread (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=67708&highlight=sri-lankans)is my favourite, Flashback of Retro Memories (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=67708&highlight=sri-lankans) is another one which brought out so many wonderful stories and warm and fuzzy feelings of yesteryear, the In My Dreams (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=67466&highlight=gilligan%27s+island) thread was another goody I thought and you’ll were brave enough to really bare your souls on that one (me included), a sprinkling (okay- perhaps a pouring) of Brian Cox threads - brought the men to jealousy (admit it) and made the girls go goo goo gaa gaa, my eyepiece threads (Help on choosing a premium 14mm ep (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=71653) and The Best 5mm ep Under $200) (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=59484&highlight=5mm+suzy)which I thought were incredibly educational and hopefully helped many people, the No Women Policy in Pubs (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=66107&highlight=women+policy+pubs) thread was a real eye opener from the stories many of you’ll shared, the Help Needed Finding Planetary Nebula (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=61561&highlight=planetary+nebula) thread was highly educational and was fed by so many people offering such great tips, my observing reports threads – I am forever grateful to the guys in the obs forum for supporting me and encouraging me to the max., and (!) all those endless keystrokes helping beginners with endless posts... yep, spent a whole lot of time there- it was a lot of work but rewarding at the same time. Not so rewarding however, when people pm me for help and I give it in buckloads and I don't even get so much as a thankyou. :mad2: People do not pm if you cannot be courteous and at least say "thank you". :mad2: Perhaps you may have noticed my absence of late offering help, but I needed a break and time to give others a turn- too much Suzy posts.:lol:

You’ll were there for me when it came time to upgrade my scope – I was so scared that I wouldn’t be able to handle such a large and heavy scope (10”), but you’ll pretty much whipped me into line and told me I needed to do it and I’d be fine- so glad you’ll pushed me; you’ll knew best.
Yes indeed, I’ve had such a wonderful time reflecting on some of the wonderful times shared with you’ll. I let my 1,000 posts milestone go without much fanfare (500 to me was the big one), but for some reason, I just really feel like I’ve worked hard posting those 2,000 posts (I guess because many of them were long ones) , and, well.. I just feel like... “phew...!" - I’m really going to celebrate and embrace this milestone.
Thank you everyone – it’s really been such an honour being part of the IIS family- many times quite downright humbling really to be around so many achievers on here, and importantly, just about the nicest bunch of caring and generous, supportive and encouraging people a little astro girl like me can ask for and have the pleasure to be with and call you’ll my friends – my IIS family. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

Ron, Paddy, Malcolm & LesD – my teachers and my biggest supporters - a big thank you to you all for mentoring me in observing. Poor Ron and Les have worked endlessly on facebook helping & supporting me there also. Paddy & Malcolm, why aren’t you’ll on there?! I look up to you’ll with such high regard and how could I go wrong- with people like you’ll surrounding me; the skills I’m learning in visual observing is in large part thanks to you’ll. I think you’ll would be proud of me, I really think I have come quite far. For example, a couple of nights ago, I finally found NGC253 high up on the zenith star hopping with a dob (very hard to do- couldn’t even look thru my finderscope) thru such thick haze that I had to tap the scope to confirm I’d spotted it, that’s how faint it was. All the while, LesD’s star hop he’d given me echoing through my head – “if you come across the asterism of stars blah blah you’ve gone too far”. Voice in my head going ..”too far, pull back the scope, too far again, pull back the scope” and on and on. Haha. So I really do have to give myself a pat on the back for that one. :P:lol: You ask why would I do that under all those conditions? Determination- even to get the faintest wisp would have made me happy that night – and happy I was because that to me was a real challenge.:D I’m still learning- I have a long way to go but you guys give me such great confidence.

Carl, Craig & Steven in the science forum- thank you so much for always welcoming me and making me feel at ease in there. You’ll treat me with respect and sometimes we even manage to have some good ol’ light hearted fun in there. :)

It's been a wonderful ride, here in this forum - again, thank you everyone.:)

Awwww thank you guys- you'll are so wonderful! :thanks:

I didn't realise there was a thread already running because ooops, I just started a new thread of my own. I was so busy typing away (and doing lots of reflecting) that I didn't see this. :help:

Is it possible to merge this into my thread?

Suzy,

The number of posts certainly indicate how active the member is in the forums. However, foremost in my mind is the quality of the posts.

After reading your posts (19 and 20) to this thread ...
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=83305

one can only be impressed by your significant contributions.

Well done!

Regards, Rob

Hi Suzy,

I think your most memorable post was thinking that the picture of the mud encrusted archaeologist Phil Harding (who looked like the creature from the black lagoon) was me.:rofl:
I hope you were being sarcastic.

Anyway congratulations.

Steven

PS Surely women would prefer Phil Harding to Brian Cox.

 To catch up to you would be asking the impossible Ron- I don't talk nearly as much as you do. :P:lol: :help:
Thanks so much Ron- wow I could almost feel all those bouncy smiley balls bouncing right off of me!
Thank you for being supportive, encouraging, and teaching me so much stuff!

Thanks Warren! :D

Thanks Nettie! :D

Many thanks Phil for merging the thread, and bottoms up back at you!

Thank you so much Jen- I feel the love!

 The movie will be out when Brian Cox agrees to co-star with me.:P
Thank you Brent, that was a lovely post- made me *gulp*. :)

Thanks Kev.:) But catching up with Jen, as is with Ron & JJJ is Mission Impossible for me- they will always be 5,000 posts ahead I think .

Liz, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy Spanish holiday to wish me congrats. :)

Awww Shelley, that was beautiful- thank you.
Yes we do love those Brian threads don't we! :D Tho I think we have finally out done ourselves on the recent fb one- 4 threads on the same photo and must be hundreds of comments. I think we may have even come close to drowning ourselves in our puddles of salivation. I think I want a job as a harness checker.

Thank you so much Ric, and I note that you frequently post on my threads- thank you.

 That could be "too much" Suzy.:P:lol:
Thanks so much, Mel!

Thanks heaps Rod!

That'd be right... you always have what I want.

Rob, I have such high respect for you and your work, and coming from you that means a lot, thank you. :)
From time to time, I make myself take the time to do some loooooong posts (as was the case with the link you exampled), making them sound fresh every time can sometimes be challenging though. As I really do like to help and If I'm to be a part of this forum, I feel I need to contribute as best I can. :D

 Sheeez! Did you guys pay out on me on that thread! Was lots of fun but.
Sure, sure.. I was being sarcastic.
