After my return from 3 weeks in India and NOT seeing more than 2 stars the whole trip due to the chronic air and light pollution I was itching to do some astrophotography with my new scope. Took a while to get all the gear back into the observatory and amazingly everything just worked without hickcoughs. Even though the moon was full for some of my luminance subs i managed to get 59x10min subs and combine this with some old OSC colour data from my QHY8 camera using Registar.
Comments welcomed.

Wow Allan you must be happy with that. Very smooth and detailed. It turned out a hell of a lot better than my attempt last night.

The large amount of data in luminance really made it easy to process, but i still had to use PixInsight to remove the gradient induced by the moon being up for some subs

GSO 10" RC

Your welcome Derek

you are a rotten barstool Allan! you go away and we are left here with cruddy weather, tell us it was cruddy over there and then come back and take and process this - you are cruel, pure and sadistically cruel!!!

Thanks Rick - i'm waiting to see your next shot.

Thanks Try, its all in the camera

Thanks Geoff, its a shot Ive been meaning to get back to for some time.

Sorry Louie, I dont have a web site.

Mark Im still getting used to the characteristics of the scope as its different from the SCT but Im begining to get there. Its mounted on a Losmandy G11

Thanks Marcus as thats generous praise from you.

LOL.
Have you been secretly talking to my ex-wife in Newcastle? Sounds just like her! Nasty!
Well you wouldn't give me a shot at that QHY10 so I just had to struggle through with what I could rustle up. If you're nice then Ill send some clear air your way.

Wow what a fantastic image of this fine galaxy, congratulations Allan :)
Is this taken with a QSI?

Thanks Steve nice of you to comment

I cant get as many photons as your scope does. Just have to go longer and longer from suburbia to get the faint stuff out of the murk.

Go see my ex, I hear she now makes potions for that!

Thanks Greg - nice comments but not in your league.

Only transits at 11:30pm so still enough time to get something

Thanks Rob, glad you liked it.

Thanks Marc but its just great to be back with the observatory automation and cameras all working well. Have to fully automate it yet and then Nirvana.

Rolf. This was taken with the QSI for luminance and old OSC data from my QHY8, thinking of getting a QHY10 to replace it for colour work.

Wow Allan, that's a beauty with plenty of detail, lovely processing and colours look good

If I may suggest something....to me the inner regions look unnaturally dull, I'd like to see a version with the core and inner arms just a little brighter, I think it may look even more realistic if you tried this..? Just a suggestion

Great job

Thanks for the comments Mike - needs a Sidonio?

Getting there as it takes a while to see all of its idiosyncrasies.

Coming from you Leonardo thats high praise.

Mike - time to get a Spyder
