These are still images that were taken as part of the timelapse sets I captured.

It was a fairly dull grey day at times so I ran the sets in batch through Photomatix Pro to do some tonemapping on them and brighten them up and saturate them.

I know they're not great shots 'technically', some halo artefacts etc from the aggressive tonemapping, but they'll look good in the timelapse.

Here's some single stills.

1. Tree stump - just before the storm almost but didn't hit on Saturday around lunchtime. It's on the left just past the top house.
2. Mountain view - on the road up to 'Mount Disappointment' where I go to get reception on my Telstra 3G card and check in on email etc.
3. Cattle Ramp - on the left just before the top house.

Canon 40D, 10-22mm lens.

Thanks for looking.

HI Mike

Generally, I like the tone mapping effects in the foreground greenery and trees, although I think the skies do look a little flat, more so in #2 and #3.

However, I do enjoy seeing HDR as I find it a fascinating process, akin to watching a print come up in the dev tray in the darkroom.:)

Cheers

I really like the composition of #1 with the tree stump. I like the rolling hills of #2 too.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Thanks Dennis - the sky was flat full stop. :) I tried tonemapping in an attempt to lift a bit of colour and depth out of the sky, but that's the scene that presented me that day.

I enjoyed the 10mm lens, let me get right in close on the subject but still capture lots of sky.
