I setup at sunset, and as soon as it got dark enough I started imaging.
It was fairly unsteady (6.5/10) but improved as the night went on, and probably peaked at about (7.5/10) before starting to drop again.:(
The first shot is probably the pick of the night (1500/10400 frames @60fps), and the second is me playing around with colour CODEC's and as a result captured at 30fps, 1500/5380 frames, I think a little oversaturated, but print's nicely:P
Still waiting for the great seeing:shrug::windy::prey: :stargaze:

Those are something for me to aspire to. Great shots.

Very nice shots. Lots of detail in both, but I especially like the sharpness of the second one (a combination of the smaller image scale and the higher colour density).

The 14th was obviously a fruitful evening for the South Australians!

Cracker images Rob, I particularly like the first one. Regards Ray

Nice work, both are good. The first one can clean up a bit nicer with a bit of colour balance adjustment, curves and sharpening (attached).
Hope you don't mind.

Thanks Mike  I was trying to colour balance the first one with sunlight coming over my shoulders onto the screen :( Once it got dark the result didn't look so nice

Thanks Ivan,
I didn't think it was going to be much good, but yes there are a few nice SA results. And I agree that the first one is scaled up a tad too much. I get tempted to overscale a bit, but it's all part of the learning experience

Thanks Troy :)
If I can do it anyone can

Nice work Rob. I quite like the second one even though it's not the normal colours for Jupiter.

Thanks Michael :)
Looks like I might have to:prey2: to public pressure and do some more in this style :rolleyes:

Great images Rob. Can you quickly list the equipment you used for the shots.

Sorry Luke :( I'm getting slack in my old age ;)
It is mostly in my signature I.e. 200mm Newtonian (complete with resident spiders:P ) on an LXD55 Mount (small old Meade GONEAR), DBK21AU618 Camera, GSO 2.5X Barlow + Various Extension Tubes.
Hope this helps:thumbsup:

Nice data Rob, nice level of detail, isn't it great when you get a bit of cooperation with the conditions.
