Is anyone using one of these? I'm thinking of going for an ED scope around 100-110mm when I sell my Mak.
The KSON got a decent review in AS&T recently, although only a very small part of the review actually discussed the optics, so I'm unsure of them.
Any opinions?
Cheers

I've had a couple, the last being sold to make way for an expensive apo, and to be honest they are a great buy.
Either direct from the seller in China, call him "Nick", or wherever.
I had the ED102 doublet, and in the CF tube. Focuser was wonderful, doublet optics had a touch of CA to my eyes, but nothing untoward. Flash has the scope now and seems happy with it. He'll make more comment I suspect.

Thanks, Gary. I remember now that you offered me one of them at one point before I got my Mak. Should have taken it then!

We've got a LP 110 carbon-fiber doublet. - originally bought it for Mrs Rider to go bird watching, as it was less $ than a quality bird-scope with more aperture and a 2 speed focusser.
BUT, its spent a fair bit of time looking at stars, cos the views are fabulous, and I'm a sucker for well built good looking wide-field scopes (errr, and the Carbon-fiber bling is just glorious.)
When it arrived I was blown away by the quality of the build, and though I'm not a refractor fan (aperture rules ok), I think it stacks up to WO's scopes Ive looked through, for less than 2/3 the price.

I like the look of those too, but am concerned about CA at f/6 with 'only' FPL51 glass. The Stellarvue version is f/7 and supposedly has pretty low CA.
Have you pushed the magnification up for planetary viewing?

Morton.
Get a hold of Mr Drive, first name Flash, he is on the forums and see if you can get a look through his. That way you'll know if the scope is what you want or not.

It will only cost $200 for a return flight SYD-BNE. Major cities aren't so close as they are there hey bro;)
Sorry Gary, i'm still bitter about the Cup.

Sorry Andrew, for some reason I though Flasher was in the same area. He has replied anyway.
Don't be bitter about the cup, you've had it a couple of times as well.
